In addition to reception of only only GPS Samsung added reception of the Russian Glonas system, which reduces the time needed to establish a location fix and improve accuracy (DOP = Dilution of performance). If satellites from all available (G)NSS systems are used it provides more satellites to use thus increasing the accuracy. While not shown in Navigation software, you can check the accuracy, number of receivable satellite, or DOP in the APP GPS status. We’ll probably see further improvements once a second signal for civil use or the European Galileo will be operational. Again since Samsung does not provide any details it is unclear if the second civil frequency is already supported in the receiver or not. Anyhow GPS achieves a much faster fix then my old Garmin 255W.

Most accessories for the Note 3 are only listed but not available, while accessories for the Note 2 which is still sold are disappearing already. No Docking station supporting USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 is listed by Samsung. The last time I checed even a replacement battery for the Note 3 was only listed by two dealer and both did not have them in stock.
Unfortunately that seems to be the policy of manufacturers in general. Obtaining the docking-station for the Nexus 7 or the case was next to impossible for most owners, since they were not sold in all countries and furthermore due to short supply. Interestingly when I visited Taiwan on a business trip even there I found only one Docking-station in a dealers store.
Second source supply may be available soon, but as published by etnews I wonder how Samsung will wait befor locking them out like some printer manufactures do second source print cartridges.
